I’ve read a bit about destiny and I especially like the way Trueface has led me to explore my destiny. Destiny is described like this in Trust for Today:
“Destiny. The life journey God has sacredly prepared with your name on it. Destiny is what happens when God-given desires mix with your particular gifting and are allowed to heal, mature, and release to be given away.”
This past year, I do believe we stepped into our destiny when we said yes to facilitating couples through a beta of the Trueface Journey.
I experienced something supernatural while co-facilitating, this group with my wife Monique. We truly walked into the awe and wonder of God. Together, as a group, we entered into Bo’s Cafe, a wonderful little novel in which the characters come to life through a story that has the uncanny ability to connect with you. The novel paints a vivid picture of the ups and downs of lives lived in one’s own strength versus lives lived in the Way of Jesus; in humility and in trusting God for identity and purpose.
A sacred space formed in our home, where couples felt welcomed, accepted and free during the first three months of meeting together. The vulnerability and trust we felt for one another in the Spirit was tangible as we gathered, spurred on by the reading and relational activities. Hearts were knit together, especially during our story retreat, as common story threads wove us into deeper connection and conversations.
Here is one man from our group sharing his experience in the Journey…
“I have never been in a group where I have felt so accepted or loved in my entire life. It was a place where I could grow in my understanding of who I am and to help me see how God sees me and then to feel his acceptance through people. At the end of my experience, I didn’t want it to end and couldn’t wait to share it with others.”
Again from Trust for Today; “Although they don’t know it, there are people waiting for you to show up in their stories. Your life is so very important. You could even look for some of them today. For destiny is not for someday. It’s happening now.”
I have facilitated small groups for over 20 years and never quite experienced the depth of relationships that developed over our nine months together in the Trueface Journey. I can't recommend it highly enough to everyone. It is a tangible way to “show up” in others stories.
